CREATIVE MINDS – Christian Hollingsworth

Please welcome Christian Hollingsworth to my Creative Minds of the month August 2011! I have been very fortunate to have met Christian through blogging -quite a remarkable innovative, young man but read for yourself..

This is Christian Hollingsworth:
- Born and raised in Northern California amongst the mountains and many outdoor activities offered. Rock climbing, snowboarding, skiing, dog sledding, fishing, camping and more.
- Around the age of ten I started dabbling in web design and blogging. From there I continued the process of learning about the online world to this very day.
- Writing is one of my passions. Writing songs, blog posts, articles, copy, journaling, short stories and more. All life can be transposed into text.
- I love music and I love singing. I’m currently being trained classically in opera and having a marvelous time learning about the technique, history and trade.

What would you like to share about yourself?

I have an ever increasing desire to discover knowledge and be an influence for good in the world. I feel these goals have and will draw me to many and multiple pursuits throughout my life. As I pursue these dreams, I feel it’s important to remember the people. Remember that our lives are meant to be filled with service and gratitude for others, and help those who are in need.

Church and family have always been a big part of my life. Even Jesus Christ and prayer. It seems that when I’ve felt a failure, prayer has always been something that’s centered me. The loving guidance from a friend or family member has often been the one thing that brings me to a lighter frame of mind. I’m so grateful for each, who has taken their time to touch my own life.

Professionally I’ve been working as a social media marketer and web developer for many years now, and seek to constantly hone my skills in those areas. I feel that social media has an endless potential for touching lives, and releasing an unbounded quantity of energy in the world. For good or bad; depending on how we use it.

What is your favorite color and why?

My favorite color would have to be something bright like orange or red. It largely depends on what the color is used for however. For clothing it’s different, for websites it’s different, etc. Let’s just say I love them all for different reasons.

What’s your most seductive food?

Believe it or not, I can down an entire bag of tortilla chips and a glass container of nacho cheese in one sitting. I’m also known for gorging myself with three bags of popcorn in a row after a tennis match or practice. Yes, I love my dose of junk food. Other than my occasional bouts with junk food, I eat very healthy. Lots of fruits, vegetables, yogurt and more. I love a good meal. Something simple like a Greek salad. I love sushi. And yes, I watch the Food Network while I eat my lunch.

Describe your dream place and where would it be?

I have two dream homes. One would be a home in the mountains. A cabin-feel type home built of large logs and large ceilings. Another dream home would be a home on the beach. Beach decorations everywhere – along with my collections of seashells gathered from early morning beachcombing. I’ve also always had this fantasy of living in a lovely tree house. Like Swiss Family Robinson or Tarzan.

The one accessory you can’t live without?

I can’t live without my spiral bound notebook. It’s where I keep my thoughts, ideas, worries, feelings, dreams, prayers and more. I have many, and always keep one close by.

What ignites your fire?

Although there are many things that ignite my fire; music is certainly on top of the list. Music contains an indescribable power that seems to motivate and inspire. When I hear a good piece of music, I want to be better in all areas of my life. Relationships. Business. Goals and more.

What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever done?

I was on a vacation in Mexico with family. I was a young teenager. We were visiting an old Mexican museum where there was a large display of ancient cavemen. My Dad noticed that the glass on the display was unlocked, and the glass could be lifted. So, naturally, I jumped in, took my shirt off – and posed with the cavemen while my family took pictures. I’m just glad I didn’t get caught and sent to a Mexican jail.

What’s your greatest advice that the world should know about?

Serve. When you put others first, the universe tends to gather its power in returning the favor in your behalf. No life will feel accomplished or at peace without the unselfish desire to give and serve.

Why are you the best in your area of expertise?

I’ve had many years of experience in social media, growing website traffic and blogging. I’ve managed marketing campaigns for large corporations, small businesses and events. At a very young age I developed and managed one of the world’s largest dog sport communities – where a newsletter, interviews and community involvement was focused on. I’ve been privileged to learn the “reigns” of marketing from my Father – whom is an event manager and marketer. Some events I’ve assisted in directing have had participants in the tens of thousands.

Apart from my experience, I consistently seek to learn more about whatever industry I’m involved in, and keep current with trends.

Surprisingly, although I have never heard of Christian, I enjoyed reading his interview. I have been having a low key day but Christian makes me want to go out and do something either creative or daring!

I love what you are doing. What a great way to connect with others and build relationships.

Ok Christian. Stop stalking me. I mean, I know that I’m interesting, somewhat funny and can sing wonderfully out of tune… but it appears you are wherever I go online!

Wait Laurinda, I thought Christian was stalking me! I guess that means we’re both blessed. :-)

Loved this interview and that you asked out of the box questions. He’s such an amazing man but you already know that. I’m just so thrilled that I’ve had an opportunity to meet him and learn so much about him. He will definitely be paving the way for the youth and I believe he’s going to have wonderful things to share with us in the near future. I also believe that the Small Business Influencer Award has made a lot of people stand up and pay attention to him. I have no doubt doors will be opening much wider now for him. I can’t wait to hear all about them too.

Really enjoyed this one Franziska, thank you so much for sharing this with us.

He’s so deserving and I want him to win this so badly. Hopefully others that read your post about him will help us.
