CREATIVE MINDS – Jeff Mueller

If you read my blog regularly, you know that I just recently nominated “The 15 Hottest Male Artists” and one of the top candidates was Jeff Mueller. A big, fat thank you to all who left a comment; I was stunned and happily surprised by the response! I am very honored to have Jeff on my blog this month for my Creative Minds interview. Please read on and find out more about Jeff, his thoughts and his artwork -don’t forget to leave a comment and check out his website!

What would you like to share about yourself?

Im a 47 year old artist living in Canton, Ohio. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. My passions are family, art, and football. I love and enjoy life in a large way. Creating art and having good times with my family are very important to me. In the first part of my life, I worked as a commercial artist in my father’s business. I attended art school at UW Milwaukee and MIAD. I have been working digitally since 1989. Currently, I freelance and work with my best friend creating stock photography. In the last two years, I began using all my skills to create fine art.

What is your favorite color and why?

Green has always been my favorite color! The shade is a green on the yellow side. One reason is because it’s the color of my favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. But, that’s not the main reason. It just fills a spot in my artistic brain where, when inserted, it fits perfectly. When that happens, all is well. There are a few shades of blue, I like, that have a similar effect, but green has always been the most prevalent.

What’s your most loved food?

My favorite food has to be cheese. I don’t think there is a cheese I don’t like! I like cheese plain, with crackers, melted, on sandwiches, pizza, and melted in a shredded beef burrito. I even like macaroni and cheese. Plus, I’m a “cheese head” nick name for Green Bay Packer fans (although I don’t wear it on my head). As far as my favorite beverage, it would have to be absinthe! I’ve v-loged about it, I enjoy it that much, but I drink it in moderation and I behave myself. Lol

Describe your dream place and where would it be?

Right now, my dream location would be out west in the Rockies, just outside of Yellow Stone. I’d live in a modern log cabin with great internet connection, 20 miles from a vacation town, with at least 20 art galleries to show my work.

The one accessory you can’t live without?

It is my iPhone, It’s sad to say since I’ve only had it since March. It really is an amazing tool I would never want to give up. It has changed my life in so many ways, all for the better!

What ignites your fire?

My wife of 25 years has always been my passion and desire! Without her and her support I would just be a shell of myself. Although I am my own person, she supports me and keeps me on the right path. That really is a special person! I have such an inner fire to create artwork that I some times become obsessed. She has become my guide, to help me fulfill the desire, and not become a crazy insane artist. She is amazing.

What’s the silliest thing you’ve ever done?

Bungy jumping! Although I did it only once, I loved it. If I was single, I would do it regularly. The other infamous thing I did in high school was build a brick wall in a stairwell. A bunch of guys, myself included, broke into the school as our senior prank. Although it was illegal, and that Wednesday after school, we were caught, booked, ticketed and suspended for three days, it was the best senior prank ever! When I moved from Wisconsin to Ohio, people had heard about it and couldn’t believe I was involved.

What’s your greatest advice that the world should know about?

My advice to anyone is your life is yours alone and you can choose how to live it. No matter what happens, really good or really bad, the sun comes up and goes down. As long as you’re breathing, what you do in between is up to you! Bad things can happen but you can choose to be positive and go forward. WE choose it -it is up to us! I know -I choose happy!

Why are you the best in your area of expertise?

I’ve been creating art since I was 12. My dad is an artist and he let me choose to be one also. He has taught me everything he knows. Then, in 1989, my dad risked everything. He bought a $500,000 graphic paintbox computer. I feel he gave me a ten year head start as a digital artist. Until recently, most artists have not had the opportunity to acquire these skills!

Even if I had just half of Jeff’s energy and enthusiasm I could do amazing things… He inspires me! I watch his V-logs and it helps me to leave the pity parties behind and move on.

Interesting to know he was a rebel in high school ;) , had a graphic paintbox computer so young and he Bungy jump. My favorite question was, What ignites your fire? and the answer, how sweet.
