I am Franziska San Pedro, German native (born 1977 in Karlsruhe), living and working in Dallas, USA.
I have been a creative mind my entire life and upcycling all kinds of projects has always been a passion of mine (from the moment I started making mud pies 
). My favorite medium is oil which I discovered when I found my Mom’s oil paint set.
After graduating, I decided not to continue my art path professionally. I wanted to see the world and so I looked into the hospitality industry. The idea of finding positions at the most prestigious hotels all over the world seemed too compelling to me.
I became a professional chef: my love for people, cultures & languages led me to New Orleans, England, Switzerland, Germany and worldwide at sea on luxury cruise liners (Silversea Cruises). When there was a spare minute left in my busy schedule, I created contemporary art and commissional work for private clients.
After my travels as a chef, I got married, gave up my suitcase life and decided to open my art studio (this is the short version). I am an eco-friendly artist: the frames are built from recycled material, the oil paint from natural pigments. Needless to say that I build the frames myself, stretch the fabrics and prime them with home-made gesso.
Currently, I am teaching cooking classes at Market Street in McKinney, selling artwork and upcycled items for the home online and at art fairs in and around Dallas.
What’s to come? I am working on my dream to open my own place with a storefront to sell, including a studio to create, a small show kitchen (and attached organic garden) to host classes and more. Stay tuned!

Projects: 1992 first oil painting 1994 old-fashioned photography (reflex camera, photometer, picture development in dark room) 1995 first art exhibition at Sparkasse Murnau, Germany - private clients, mostly commissional work from 1995 until today - sketches and caricatures for a political party, newspapers, magazines, and companies - logos, layouts for websites, graphic desgin work - copies of the old masters: Van Gogh, Monet, etc. in oil

Thanks! The short version: we met on eHarmony (while I was at sea), the longer version is that I manifested Ron into my life. At some point in my life, I decided to find out who I was and what I wanted. It was an interesting journey because I discovered that only if you deal with yourself, do some inventory in your life and understand who you want to be, you can find the perfect match. And the journey continues but together..

I gave up on meds several years ago after Doctor prescribed and administered meds put me in a wheelchair. That is why I do the work I do now.
