Taking Down our Christmas Decoration
Posted by Franziska on Jan 10, 2013 in Green Stuff, Living & Design, Upcycling & DIY | 0 commentsSo sad, another christmas is over! Yesterday, I took everything down and stored it in our attic for our next christmas which will be in Portland!! Leaving Texas in October for good, woohoo.
So I had to think what should go into the boxes and what I can donate or put on the curb. I decided that all the reds needed to go. When I was little, bright red was my favorite color (my first bike was dark red which I got from my great-grandmother when I turned 5). But I think red, green and gold aren’t exactly the colors I like today. In our house, I like white, gray, silver, blue, turquoise, mint and so my christmas decor reflected that in 2012…
So here’s some of the stuff I had on the tree: crocheted stars and snowflakes, recycled light bulbs (spray painted and then I dipped them in glitter), pine cones dipped in white house paint, sewn stars made from scrap fabric (leftovers from my parents’ sofa which I upholstered several months ago) and silver snowflakes.
I loved our tree this year!
